For me there’s been a severe lack of rock music that still contains that real grunge attitude, sound, and tone that seems to have fled the world in recent years. Poste 942 are one of the few bands to stand up to such a challenge and they yet again deliver with another EP that brings the crunch to a very satisfying fruition.
The title of “Extended Play²” doesn’t really leave much to the imagination as the EP is essentially a direct follow up to one of their previous efforts, “Extended Play”, in more ways than just the title of the album. A mere three tracks are given to us on this EP, but they are some of the best grunge rock that you could even find out of an active band in the underground scene any more possibly in the entire world, and I don’t say that without good reason. Poste 942 bring together unforgettable riffs mixed with a smooth yet edgy set of vocals that really smash across the senses in a way that is very pleasing to the ears when paired with all of the other things going on in the band to give you this very, very nice sound that is really what grunge rock was based upon.
“Extended Play²” is simply a damn good time no matter which way you slice it, and this yet again is an EP you need to check out if you want a very nice slap to the face. Poste 942 once more show they aren’t to be fucked with and they can make damn good rock no matter how you look at it.
