I never thought that black metal could ever be so melodic and raw at the same time, but like most things that I think are impossible the universe comes along and says “no, fuck you”. Fjorsvartnir’s newest album, “Mzoraxc’ Forbandelse”, is a very nice melodic black metal albums that has just about anything could ever want out of a black metal album. The vocals, drums, and guitars were harsh in every track as you could probably imagine from looking at that badass cover art. I mean look at that bridge of corpses! There are in total 8 tracks and most of them stretch over 6 minutes long, so if you’re worried about not getting enough out of this album, don’t. And while I cannot understand a word that is being spoken, the vocals are great with their intensity and rhythm that is kept in each track of “Mzoraxc’ Forbandelse’. The same goes for the guitars and drums which were fast, melodic, and a great feel for the whole album that just didn’t let up no matter what and that is one of the things that really made this album sound great. This is Fjorsvartnir’s fourth full length album and I’m positive that they can do better than this solid album that is “Mzoraxc’ Forbandelse”. It’s sound and feel can definitely be improved upon and I’ve no doubt that Fjorsvartnir can do that in future albums, and you can bet that I will be there to see how far they will have come.
