As I enter into the third straight day of listening to new thrash metal, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are plenty of good thrash metal bands out there. Some are fast. Some are raw. Some are both. White Mantis is both. Their debut album, “Fukkin’ Demo”, is, as you might’ve guessed from the album’s cover art, here to only punch faces and leave your sorry ass in the dust to wonder what the fuck just happened. Now I’m not sure if this is an actual demo as it sounds like it’s gone through the studio and been through tuning and all that to my ears, but if it hasn’t then this shit needs to be heard by absolutely every single fucking thrash fan out there right now. All four tracks off the album are a straight up explosion of speed and intensity that can only be found in a properly done thrash metal album and that is exactly what “Fukkin’ Demo” is in every way, shape, and form. The vocals were perfect to match with the pace of the guitars and drums as they all brought the speed in an absolutely intense way that only thrash metal fans can understand when I say that this shit was fucking fast. While the songs didn’t stretch anywhere past a run time of 5 minutes, they did jam as much awesomeness and speed as they could into the tracks which worked out marvelously as you may have been able to guess with me constantly talking about the speed of “Fukkin’ Demo” and how fantastic it is. But that’s not without cause because White Mantis have made a debut that should be heard by fans of thrash all around the world with how amazing it truly is and the amount of talent that the album shows off. Imagine what the band could do with the proper amount of time, inspiration, and material in mind. It’d be fucking amazing! I’d be all over that shit in minutes and you should be too!
