Wander (self-titled)

10547408_248762621914859_2648107151601598645_n Hailing from Maryland and ready to take this atl rock/pop punk scene by storm, Wander rears its wonderfully inviting head into the mix. We Are Triumphant has truly found themselves something in Wander.

Their self titled debut album was released on August 25th, 2014 and I have found myself returning to listen through it time and time (and time and time and t…) again. 11 tracks and a total of about 38 minutes of total listening time you’ll be sure to find something to love about Wander. From the calm, ambient and pleasing to the fast, punk-rock influenced rock anthems there’s plenty of variety for everyone.

The drums are simple, but effective. There’s no lack of talent in what (I’m going off their Facebook page for these names) Brett Schleicher has to offer. I never find myself bored, just listening to the drums. His fluidity and again, simplicity are strong attributes to have as a drummer.

The guitars (Jack Rentschler & Mack Gallagher) are beautifully written, songs like It Gets Better and the beginning of Brave are atmospheric, almost as if you’re to let your mind Wander. Rhythm and lead alike are both a treat.

The bassist and the drummer have a true chemistry. Get yourself to pick the two out of the mix (which i’ll get to) and letting those two lead the pack is wonderously done.

The vocalist (Andy Cizek) has phenominal range, and I love it. His lyrics are beautiful, and unique (though at times, they are a bit depressing, but it’s a comforting depression.)

Outstanding. There is not one thing I can think of that is wrong with this mix. Everything blends, vocal harmonies stick out, but aren’t overbearing, bass is easily picked out and followed, the guitars are concise and pleasent, the drums are crisp, tight and in your face. There is nothing wrong with the production side of this album.

Best part of the production? It was all produced by the singer (Andy Cizek) himself. Which is a feat of it’s own to be able to not only write captivating material, but go through every step of the process of writing, recording, and mixing an album himself.

Wander’s self titled debut doesn’t disappoint. If you’re into any kind of alt rock, pop punk or anything that will make you feel, you’ll love it.
