The patient waiting done by me and thousands of fans around the world have been has been rightfully rewarded. “The Darkest Road” is by far a superior album compared to “Dead or Alive” to me. This album was amazingly beautiful. If you are a fan of all metal like I am then this is certainly one of the best album of 2014 if not the best. And if you don’t like this type of metal (or metal all at for that matter) then you at least be marveled at the tone and direction A Breach of Silence took on this album. The album has a sobering-like tone to it that’ll bring hardships into perspective and then it’ll lift you back up as if to say “Let nothing stand in your way!”
Then the flow of going from song to song is amazing! After “Hang em High” the flow is particularly great in my opinion all the way to the final track “Time Still Remains” which consists only of a piano and the lead singer which sounded very good even though it was extremely different from the rest of the album but that doesn’t make it any less amazing. And the album had a rare occurrence on me where it really struck the core and connected with my inner self and it was a truly odd feel. When an album is this good that’s rare. When it’s sound connect’s with someone’s heart and soul that’s even rarer. And it’s almost unheard of when this is done by the pioneers of a brand new musical genre, and in this case that genre is powercore.
This truly is a beautiful album by all standards of not just metal but of all music everywhere. I don’t care who you are, what you think, or how you try to convince me. . . “The Darkest Road” is by far a candidate for the best metal album of the year. The album releases on October 7 (in North America at least) and it’s definitely one to buy. Hell, I’ve already pre-ordered the disc and on iTunes. Totally worth it.
